A miracle
The leaning tower of Pisa makes me nervous. In fact, the tower looks nervous itself, as though it is sheepishly peeking out from behind the cathedral to see whether everyone has gone away yet. I know it's been (sort of) upright for 700 years, but that only means that some catastrophe is overdue, right? Our group managed to make it through the day intact, though, and I had a relaxing walk and grabbed a few decent photos in the Miracle Square before we headed to Florence and got stuffed with food again. I've had a real bath tonight for the first time in 5 days, and it's amazing how much better I feel and what a difference it makes to follow my usual bedtime routine. I'm looking forward to seeing Florence in the daylight tomorrow, but for now, I'm quite content.
